Hi everybody,
Just a note on treating ponds, what to keep in mind. I personally treated a 3/4 acre farm pond in New Jersey, starting in April, the owners had algae problem’s for years. They tried various products of course with no luck at all. This was a tough sell to them because of their past experience. The pond was in bad shape, this is an active farm, with several farm animals (dozens), chickens, horses, lama, sheep etc. Every time it rained guess where it went, all rain runoff went into the pond. Needless to say what went with it. Not a pretty site or smell. I was using the standard dose schedule for this project not knowing what would happen. Everything looked great until late June or so, (not quite sure of exact date), but anyway. The pond had a small algae bloom, about 5-10% of the surface, still unsightly and home owners were not happy. Of course I was not happy either, after all word of mouth in this business is everything. The problem was the farm had a flock of 75 or so geese stop in for a visit. On top of that they lose their feathers and ground’s them for a month. All
that extra animal feces caused a small algae bloom. Because this happened my regular dose was not working. Just too much fecal matter to handle. A week went by, no change. I decided to double the dose for one month and with in 3 weeks the algae finally went away. The standard dose for a pond this big is 1 gallon of LLMO GC per week and 3 Ecosock’s per month. Basically every pond situation is different and may warrant a slight modification to adjust to changing conditions. So don’t assume our product won’t work in your case, we just might have to change it around.
Thank you
